It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
